During the UK school holidays CBBC had a daytime audience since the kids weren't in school, so CBBC started broadcasting for longer in the daytime with a daily segment called H.O.T (standing for Holidays on Two) which ran on BBC Two. Hot would run on BBC Two during the morning before switching over to the regular CBBC slot on BBC One.
These summer broadcasts were different to the normal CBBC broadcast as they were mainly filmed outside the normal studio with the presenters hanging out in the gardens. These segments also had competitions and sideshow style games which would run through out the week, and kids could play by phoning in, winning prizes.
There was a special hot broadcast in 1999 which was centred around the August 1999 solar eclipse that was happened in the UK that year. The Blue presenters showed views how to construct a projector to safely watch it.
